October 03, 2016
GREENVILLE, S.C / PRNewswire / - ACL Airshop, a leader in products and services for the global air cargo industry, has opened four new international hub stations and has enhanced several others since early 2016, all aimed at growing the company's service network for its airline customers. At the Narita Airport (NRT) in Tokyo, Japan, in addition to providing the full line of the company's products and services, ACL Airshop has established an FAA Part-145 certified "ULD" Repair Station capable of performing full repairs and overhaul of cargo pallets and containers ("Unit Load Devices"). Approximately 60% of all air cargo in and out of Japan moves through Narita Airport. In Bogota, Colombia (BOG) the company is now operational with a full line of products and services, partnered there with AirLogistix. AirLogistix and ACL Airshop plan to open another FAA Part-145 certified ULD Repair Station, commencing in the first quarter of 2017. As of October 1st, new operations have commenced at Mexico City in partnership with GSA Aero Charter de México SA de CV, and at Beijing, China teamed with (BGS) Beijing Aviation Ground Services. Further, station enhancements and management additions have been made at ACL Airshop operations at DFW (Dallas TX), IAH (Houston TX), and LAX (Los Angeles CA) airports.
As clear evidence that its new majority owners, Ranger Airshop Holdings, are intent on accelerating the strategic growth of ACL Airshop, these expansions have already occurred just in the first 8 months of their investment tenure, with more expected in the coming years to continuously grow the comprehensive global network. Steve Townes, Ranger Aerospace founder and CEO of Ranger Airshop Holdings, said, "Our strategic intent is clear: steadily grow the ACL Airshop network for our air carrier clients. We have doubled and even tripled Ranger-owned enterprises before; we intend to do it again."
ACL Airshop has become a leading worldwide one-stop shop for leasing, sales, repair and management of Unit Load Devices ("ULDs") and cargo net / strap manufacturing for the aviation industry. Today the company operates around the world on six continents, at more than half of the world's top fifty air cargo hub airports.
ACL Airshop provides unique products and services to numerous leading air carriers. ACL Airshop operates in five highly complementary business segments: Cargo Control Products Manufacturing, ULD Leasing, ULD Sales, ULD Repairs, and ULD Logistics Management. A vertically integrated operation, ACL Airshop manufactures air cargo products at its state of the art production facility in Easley, SC USA. Cargo pallets, cargo shipping containers, straps, nets, hardware, and other cargo-specific control products are made globally available 24/7/365 by the company. ACL Airshop also provides innovative leasing programs and management/tracking services, and operates FAA / EASA approved repair stations in multiple locations (now including Narita) to repair and overhaul these assets.
While increasing its operational footprint in North America, South America, and Europe, ACL Airshop's growth in recent years has also followed regional trends in the Far East and Mideast. The company has a significant service presence at strategic locations such as Dubai, Hong Kong, and mainland China. Plans call for opening additional service and repair centers soon in other air hubs with substantial cargo traffic. The over-riding strategy of ACL Airshop is "Grow the Network" on behalf of its hundreds of airlines clients around the world.
Mark Edwards, Managing Director of the Asia-Pacific region for the company, commented on the Narita opening: "Our largest customers carrying air cargo in and out of Japan essentially wrote our Narita strategy for us, by letting us know we needed to be there with a full repair station capability."The Asia-Pacific region is predicted by industry experts to be the most significant area of the world for continued air traffic and air cargo growth in the next decade."
Steve Townes, CEO of ACL Airshop, said: "We will expand our geographic footprint in response to customers' needs, while increasing our technical depth with the best cargo control products in the industry, at fair prices, all delivered with impeccable service. Our customers know that we are globally available around the clock every day.
ACL Airshop headquarters is near Greenville, SC, and the main international office is in Amsterdam, NL. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ranger Airshop Holdings, Inc. (the latest aviation services consolidation platform by Ranger Aerospace and its institutional partners).
